Meet Dr. Jonathan Jelmini

Dr. Jonathan Jelmini is a distinguished oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a dual degree in dentistry and medicine, bringing over a decade of experience in the field. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors. Following his dental training, Dr. Jelmini pursued his medical degree (MD) at Oregon Health and Science University, further enhancing his expertise in surgical procedures and patient care.

Dr. Jelmini completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at OHSU, where he honed his skills in complex surgical techniques, trauma care, and reconstructive surgery. His training included extensive experience in treating a wide range of conditions, from dental implants and wisdom teeth extractions to facial trauma and corrective jaw surgery. He then went on to complete a Fellowship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Maxillofacial Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery, treating a wide range of pathology with complex reconstructive needs. His interests include dentoalveolar and implant surgery, head and neck reconstruction, facial trauma, pathology, and nerve reconstruction with the overall goal of restoring form and function.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Jelmini is committed to advancing the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery through research and education. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is an Assistant Professor in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at OHSU. His research interests include innovations in surgical techniques, improving patient care, and the integration of technology in surgical practice.

Dr. Jelmini is a board-certified member of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is actively involved in various professional organizations. He is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and is known for his meticulous attention to detail and commitment to achieving optimal outcomes for his patients.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Jelmini is passionate about community service and participates in programs that provide continuing education to patients and providers in his community.

In his personal life, Dr. Jelmini is an avid Stanford Baseball fan and most of all enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and dog.
